SAIQUI
Saiqui — a word from the Shipibo-Conibo language meaning “to call to great voices.”
The Soul Of Objects
We are deeply grateful to curator Luján Cambariere for inviting us to be part of this exhibition, and to the GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts for creating a space where these stories, traditions, and artistic practices can be shared and celebrated.
For Soul of the Object, BENEAI presents three textile works that explore the visual language of Kené art through craftsmanship, symbolism, and materiality. Tracing the energetic pathways found in nature and the symbolic resonance of form and color, each piece emerges from ancestral practices where knowledge is passed through making, observation, and lived experience.
These works honor the artistry, cultural knowledge, and creative vision of Clemencia Silvano, Diana Lauriano Rengifo, Domitila Rengifo, Hermesilia Bardales, and Karen Hart. United through collaboration and shared vision, the pieces carry ancestral traditions into a living and evolving contemporary expression.
