A Living Record Of Our Creative Milestones
At BENEAI each creation is a step in our evolving story. Benchmark is where we pause, reflect, and share the milestones that mark our growth.
2026 MILESTONES OF CRAFTMANSHIP
2026 Milestones
January 2026 — 1,500 textiles created
February 2026 — New techniques employed with natural dyes
A growing body of unique expressions in textile art—each piece shaped by craftsmanship, imagination, and cultural continuity. Handcrafted by the artisans of the Beneai Collective, every textile carries forward a dialogue between tradition and contemporary design.
Why We Track Progress
• To celebrate the evolution of craftsmanship
• To honor the artisans, knowledge, and heritage behind each creation
• To share the journey of our collective as it continues to unfold
TRANSPARENCY OF MATERIALITY
Locally Sourced, Thoughtfully Used
Every material we work with is sourced locally in Peru — from textiles and threads to trims and embellishments. By working with local materials and makers, we preserve the authenticity of our work, strengthen local creative economies, and reduce the environmental impact associated with long-distance sourcing and transportation.
A System That Respects Resources
Materiality is at the core of BENEAI’s creative process. We have developed a made-with-intention production system, in which only the amount of material required to create each textile is used. Each textile then becomes part of a garment, creating a direct relationship between material, artwork, and final piece.
This approach allows us to minimize unnecessary waste while maximizing the value and meaning of every resource. Rather than treating materials as commodities, we see them as elements of cultural knowledge, craftsmanship, and creative expression.
From Material to Garment
Our process follows a simple principle:
Source locally → Use intentionally → Create the textile → Transform it into a garment → Preserve its value
This creates a more conscious material cycle in which nothing is created without purpose. Every textile carries the work of its maker, and every garment extends the life and meaning of that textile.
STORYTELLING
Inspired by the Amazon
This year, BENEAI has placed a greater focus on creating textiles that celebrate the Amazon rainforest — drawing inspiration from its colors, textures, forms, and rhythms.
Our creative process explores the Amazon through color palettes, artisanal techniques, and embellishment, translating elements we observe and appreciate in nature into contemporary textiles and garments.
Rather than simply representing nature, we seek to interpret its essence through our own creative language — allowing the richness of the Amazon to inspire how we design, make, and transform each piece.
Nature is not only our inspiration.
It is our teacher.
